A picture on a question isn't showing¶
A picture on a question is checked before anyone is shown it. Until it has been cleared, the question is asked without it.
That is deliberate, and it is why every picture needs a description. The description is always asked in words, as part of the question — so the question still makes sense while the picture is being checked, on a channel that can't show pictures, and to someone who can't see it.
It was only just added¶
Checking takes a little time. A question asked straight after you added its picture may go out without it. Later runs will include it once it has been cleared.
It was never cleared¶
If a picture still isn't shown well after it was added, it did not pass the check, and it won't be shown. The question is still asked, using its description — which is why the description should carry everything someone needs to answer.
It couldn't be added at all¶
When adding a picture is refused outright:
- "A question's picture must be an image." Only image files can be attached.
- "A question's picture must be under 10 MB." Resize or compress it first.
- "That picture can't be uploaded." The file was refused. Try a different picture.
You can't save the question¶
If the question says describe the picture, the description is missing. It isn't optional: fill in Describe the picture — what someone who can't see it needs to know to answer the question.
The colleague's training is out of date¶
Pictures need a recent version of Run a quiz. If the colleague's Work tab shows update next to it in the catalogue, choose it. See a quiz isn't offered to someone.
